about

Ninth Degree’s third studio single “Trigger” releases on the 28th of January 2022 with a single launch night on the 29th of January at Legends Edinburgh with support from Stay For Tomorrow and RumRunners.

The track was written by Cameron (Vocals/E. Guitars) and Hamish (Vocals/Ac. Guitar) all the way back in high school was one of their first musical collaborations and has been a setlist staple ever since.

Though the pandemic has made getting together to record much more challenging, the band’s DIY ethos has enabled them to keep working and recording remotely.

The recording process started with a drum track recorded live as part of their “Live in Lockdown” album with the rest of the elements recorded by the band members remotely. The tracks were then collated, mixed, and mastered in house by Cameron.

This approach resulted in a track with studio quality audio, but the feel of a live performance – something the band are proud to have manage to capture even when none of them could be in the same room.
